The Green Idea
The project:
We would like to improve our playground area on our school property. Last year we planted 4 trees to provide shade over our playground. We would like to add some seating ( rocks or benches) under the trees.
How we'll make it happen:
We would decide on the actual choice of seating and based on the funding, purchase the items and then have them installed. We would involve our Ecoteam in selecting the seating and placement.
How it will positively impact the environment:
We would chose eco-friendly materials ( most likely large rocks) and place them under the new trees that have been planted to promote areas for students to find shade in our yard.
How we'll measure its success:
We would be able to assess the use of the area by students.
Who's participating :
Ecoteam which involves 8 staff members including our custodian as well as parents and student representatives from every class.
